Holiday rentals consume a lot of energy on lighting on an annual basis. By switching to energy-efficient lighting, De Drie Koningen is definitely doing its bit for the environment. The same goes for timers on lighting. This ensures that the lighting in the corridors does not stay on unnecessarily and saves on energy consumption.

Use of airco and heating
By the year 2023, two apartments (St-Jacob and Onze-Lieve-Vrouw) have switched from natural gas heating to electric heating via air conditioning. Use these wisely. It is often not necessary to have the air-conditioning and/or heating blowing day and night. You usually don't sleep well as a result, and besides, all the energy it uses is also considerable. Instead of the air conditioner, you can open a window or a balcony door. Fresh air is at least as nice as using an air conditioner.
