Sockets
Planning a trip to Bruges? Don’t forget to check your socket compatibility before you arrive! Many travelers are caught off guard to discover that Belgium uses different sockets than they’re used to at home.
- In Belgium, sockets are of the type E (two round pins with a grounding hole).
- The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.
- They obviously work with type E plugs: this type is of French origin.
- The sockets also work with type F and type C plugs.
- If you have a different type of plug, it is best to bring the relevant travel adapter or socket converter.
