Certain streets in the historic city centre are car-free (pedestrianised) or traffic-calmed at specific times. There are three (colour) zones, each with specific regulations:
Car-free: Car-free (pedestrianised) refers to a complete ban on motorised transport.
Traffic-calmed: Traffic-calmed means that some specific target groups, including visitors staying in the car-free area, are allowed access to these streets under certain conditions and subject to filling in an online form. This is not applicable to De Drie Koningen since the holiday rentals are not located in a car-free or traffic-calmed area.
Enforcement is done by ANPR cameras based on number plate registration. Anyone driving through a car-free or traffic-calmed street will be fined.
You can reach De Drie Koningen by car without using any car-free or traffic-calmed streets. Enter Bruges through the Kruispoort and follow these streets:
You can also depart from De Drie Koningen without any problems.
If you wish to drop off your luggage at De Drie Koningen first, and then park the car in a public car park, we have listed the designated route for each public car park we recommend.
